by Ryo Minemizu

Ryo Minemizu announced his second exhibition in CANON GALLERY in November 2022 at Ginza Tokyo and February 2023 in Osaka, Japan.

Exhibition title: phenomenon
Date: November 15 ~ 26, 2022 Tokyo, February 21 ~ March 4, 2023, Osaka

As a photographer of marine life, Ryo Minemizu has been taking photographs and creating videos for illustrated books, children’s educational titles, and TV programs for thirty years. Tiny plankton are the major objects of my shoots, because I consider the life, they embody to be perfect in its form– drifting in the flow of the water in a natural environment.

This is his announcement in four years since the past CANON GALLERY exhibition in 2018. During this period, he conducted shoots in Hawaii and Key West Florida in the United States, the Philippines, and Indonesia, and made many new discoveries besides those in Japan. He was able to encounter beautiful figures and mysterious ecology that he had never seen before.

In this exhibition, he mentions as “It is my great honor if you would find the inevitability of the ecology of marine life as a high level of beauty that has never been seen before through photography.”
